About the Company
Aviair is a leading aviation company with its head office located in Kununurra, with maintenance located in Broome, Kununurra and Karratha. Aviair proudly provides extensive charter, RPT and tourism services across the Kimberley and Pilbara with a fleet of approximately 30 aircraft, predominantly maintaining its own fleet which includes B200, C208, PC12, B58 and GA8 aircraft.
About the Role
Aviair has bases in Broome, Kununurra, Karratha and Adelaide and is currently seeking to appoint a Maintenance Watch Engineer to support operations in its CAMO. As a Maintenance Watch Engineer, you will be responsible to the Fleet Services Manager for the overall coordination of line maintenance activities and technical liaison.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing maintenance requirements to optimise efficiency and maximise the availability of serviceable aircraft, including coordinating timely rectification and/or maintenance required for return to service of delayed aircraft.
- Monitor and manage the supply chain for afterhours Aircraft-On-Ground parts as needed.
- Monitor operational critical defect requisitions to maximise aircraft availability, including ordering parts and ensuring availability of equipment.
- Advise the Fleet Services Manager and Aircraft Operations Centre in a timely manner where defect rectification will impact the flight schedule estimated return to service.
- View current deferred defects daily to ensure corrective action is planned and completed, and identify reliability issues and work to implement solutions.
- Make application to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for Minimum Equipment List extensions, Permissible Unserviceabilities and special flight permits, and communicate the outcome to the Technical Services Manager and Operations.
- Interpret regulations and processes to provide advice on methods to manage non-standard repairs and modifications.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to plan the appropriate timeframe for work, taking into account planned flight schedules.
- Authorise maintenance-related ferry flights outside of normal working hours following consultation with the Continuing Airworthiness Manager and Flight Operations.
- Act as primary point of contact for aircrew technical support.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all relevant stakeholders, including the Aircraft Operations Centre and external organisations.
- Ensure a high level of engineering and safety standards at all times, according to company policy and Civil Aviation regulations.
- Maintain a handover log as appropriate to ensure continuity of workflow.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of a Diploma in Aeroskills or equivalent and a minimum of two years' experience as a B1 or B2 AME working on various Turboprop or Jet aircraft types.
- Knowledge of CAMO and AMP expositions and manual suites.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively work with employees across various departments.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage your own time effectively and prioritise workload.
- Ability to obtain and hold an ASIC.
