The Role
The Aviation Safety Officer supports the Safety, Quality & Compliance department with day-to-day management of the Safety Management System. Brisbane base preferred; Sydney may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of safety reports
- Collate and analyse trend data, prepare meeting packs for Safety Meetings
- Assist in the conduct of audits and follow-up of corrective actions
- Assist with internal safety investigations
- Maintain the Safety Database including supporting systems and documentation
- Assist with the Risk Assessment Register process
- Develop and amend safety publications and safety training
- Actively participate in the Emergency Response Plan and associated training exercises
- Act as minute taker for all safety meetings
Requirements
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in SMS in the aviation industry (desirable but not required)
- Auditor qualifications and aviation background (desirable)
