Join Airservices Australia as a Simulator Support Officer and play a key role in delivering realistic air traffic control simulation training while developing specialist operational skills in a unique aviation environment. This is a 2-year fixed term contract based in Perth, WA.

Airservices Australia is a government-owned organisation responsible for the safe and efficient management of 11% of the world's airspace and provision of aviation rescue fire fighting services at Australia's busiest airports.

The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Simulator Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality simulation training that helps develop and maintain the skills of Air Traffic Controllers across Airservices. You will work with advanced simulator systems, assist in the preparation and delivery of training exercises, analyse information, and contribute to realistic and high-fidelity simulation scenarios, while developing specialist knowledge of air traffic control operations, aviation procedures and simulation technologies.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong computer skills and confidence learning new technologies and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, assess and act on information from multiple sources
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under time pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others and build effective working relationships
  • A strong willingness to learn and successfully complete a structured training and endorsement program

Desirable

  • Aviation experience, qualifications or studies
  • Experience in simulation, training or other operational environments
  • Exposure to simulator systems or aviation technology

Security Clearance

To be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident, as an ASIC is required for this role.
