About

Established on the 4th of July in 1978 in Darwin, Airnorth began as a merger of local charter operators, initially providing ad-hoc flights for the mining and resources industry with Cessna aircraft. Over the past 45 years, the airline has grown from these humble beginnings into Australia's second-longest running airline, becoming a vital link connecting remote communities across the Northern Territory, Western Australia, Queensland, and Timor-Leste. The founders recognized that the vast distances and unique geography of northern Australia demanded a specialized aviation solution that could serve both business travelers and remote communities with reliability and care.

Today, Airnorth operates state-of-the-art regional jet aircraft across 15 destinations, evolving from charter operations to become a regional aviation leader headquartered at Darwin International Airport. As a subsidiary of Bristow Helicopters Australia, the airline has maintained its commitment to safety and service while expanding its route network to include major cities like Perth and Cairns. With a team of dedicated aviation professionals, Airnorth continues to bridge the gaps between Australia's northern territories and the rest of the country, ensuring that the north remains connected and accessible for leisure travelers, businesses, and essential services alike.
