Career Opportunity: Flight Dispatch Officer

Air Niugini Limited is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Flight Dispatch Officer to join its Operations Control Department.

Reporting directly to the Manager Flight Dispatch, the successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating critical flight dispatch functions and ensuring flight crews receive all necessary operational information to support safe, efficient and compliant airline operations. This role is integral to flight planning, flight monitoring and the overall operational control process.

Key Responsibilities

Flight Planning and Pilot Briefing

• Conduct pilot briefings for scheduled and charter operations.
• Assist in the preparation of flight plans.
• Generate and distribute Flight Ace flight plans.
• Provide weather forecasts, NOTAMs and operational alerts.
• Ensure pilots receive all required flight documentation prior to departure.

Aircraft Operational Support

• Monitor aircraft maintenance and operational readiness.
• Support safe and efficient flight dispatch activities.
• Track flight progress and communicate operational updates.
• Monitor departure and arrival information and provide follow-up reports.

Records and Compliance

• Maintain operational records, manuals and briefing materials.
• Ensure operational documents and amendments are distributed and recorded.
• Support compliance with company procedures and aviation regulations.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

• Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics A (Physics preferred).
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Completion of Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) examinations.
• Completion of Instrument Rating (Aeroplane) examinations.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience in Part 121 airline operations.
• Excellent English communication and reporting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic operational environment.
• Flying experience will be highly regarded.
