Service Desk Officer
Port Moresby | Information Technology – IT Operations

Air Niugini is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Service Desk Officer to join our IT Operations team. Reporting to the IT Operations & Service Desk Team Leader, you will provide first-level IT support to ensure our employees remain connected, productive, and supported across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and remote support for hardware, software, networks, email, telephony, and business applications.
  • Log, prioritise, and resolve incidents and service requests using the IT service management system.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Teams, VPN, mobile devices, and remote-working technologies.
  • Assist with user access management, software installation, troubleshooting, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Maintain IT asset records, documentation, and knowledge articles.
  • Escalate complex or security-related issues while ensuring service levels are met.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a Service Desk, Help Desk, or Technical Support role.
  • Experience with ITSM/ticketing systems, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft 365.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, networking fundamentals, and endpoint support.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and explain technical concepts clearly to users.

Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation, Microsoft, CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working in an enterprise IT environment.
