About the Role

AMS is seeking motivated and customer-focused Relief Aviation Screening Officers to join the team on a casual basis. This is a national FIFO and travel-based role — successful applicants will travel extensively across Australia to provide relief coverage at different AMS airport sites, including regional, remote and metropolitan locations. This role is not based at one permanent airport and requires a high level of flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct passenger and baggage screening activities across multiple airport locations
• Travel extensively across Australia to provide relief coverage
• Undertake FIFO deployments and work away from home as required
• Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and procedures
• Provide exceptional customer service in a professional airport environment
• Monitor and report security incidents or irregularities
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Contribute to a safe, secure and welcoming airport experience

Essential Requirements

• Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (preferred) or willingness to obtain — full training may be provided to suitable applicants
• Ability to obtain Dangerous Goods Awareness Training and First Aid certification
• Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
• Willingness to participate in random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulations
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Australia and work across different airport sites as required
• Australian working rights
