About the role

The Storeman role encompasses two main areas: Bonded Store and Tools Store. In the Bonded Store, you will be responsible for receiving incoming items from shipping, sorting, labelling, and storing them in their allocated locations. You will also issue items from the warehouse to users, ensuring they are in good condition and accompanied with appropriate documents, and take appropriate actions on returned items including quarantine, scrap, and return to vendor. In the Tools Store, you will order, receive, issue, secure, and maintain the inventory of all tools, special equipment, and tool crib as per the tool control program, ensure tools and equipment are sent to test, repair, or calibration, and submit Daily Tool Reports on the status of tools.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive items from shipping, check accompanying documentation, and update records of receipt
  • Note condition of items and any damage or discrepancy in documents; segregate items and place in quarantine as necessary, reporting to supervisor
  • Label received items and indicate storage location as contained in records
  • Place items in appropriate storage locations, update records in inventory system, and file all documents accordingly
  • Send notification to respective departments on arrival of parts
  • Locate and retrieve items on receipt of approved purchase requests and issue as requested; update parts issue records
  • Verify returned items, their condition, appropriate labels and other documents, and process items as required
  • Place returned items in appropriate racks/quarantine and inform immediate supervisor for further action
  • Prepare items for shipment back to vendors including appropriate protection, packaging, and raising appropriate Packing Lists
  • Receive, stock, control, and inventory tools and support equipment in accordance with established procedures
  • Issue tools, test equipment, test measurement, diagnostic equipment, and support equipment from the tool store, maintaining strict accountability
  • Perform preventative and minor maintenance on tools and support equipment
  • Ensure tools and support equipment are clean, oiled, and serviceable
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment for quick inventory
  • Ensure tools and equipment are sent to test, repair, or calibration
  • Perform equipment custodian duties and manage custodian authorization and custody receipt listing
  • Practise good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness and prevention, and safety at all times
  • Perform other duties related to the classification as assigned by immediate supervisor

About you

  • SPM qualification with credit in English
  • Computer literate
  • Basic communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu
  • Able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
