Airport Station Manager – Melbourne Airport

About the role

As Airport Station Manager, you will oversee the full range of station activities at Melbourne Airport, with a strong focus on safety, operational performance, customer service, compliance and cost control. You will be responsible for ensuring our ground operation runs safely, efficiently and on time, while maintaining strong relationships with ground handling partners, airport and government authorities, and other agencies that contribute to the performance of the station.

Key responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day airport operations and ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations

Manage and monitor ground handling activities including check-in, baggage handling, boarding and aircraft turnaround Work closely with Operations Control and ground handling partners to support on-time departures and minimise delays and disruptions Ensure the safe and efficient handling of passengers, baggage and cargo in accordance with company procedures

• Coordinate and monitor ground handler performance against company service standards
• Maintain close relationships with airport, government and regulatory authorities
• Represent the company at meetings relating to airport development and operations
• Manage guest complaints and coordinate prompt remedial action with ground handling partners
• Provide managerial and administrative support to personnel within the station
• Exercise cost control across station expenditure and ensure spending remains within budget

About you

• At least 2 years' experience in airport operations or airline station management
• Strong knowledge of airport procedures, ground handling and regulatory requirements
• Leadership experience and the ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and customer service skills

The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, in line with operational requirements

• Experience working with international airlines will be advantageous
• Australian work authorisation
