Mō te tūnga | About the role
This is a varied role combining SAP, logistics and technical support to manage over 3,000 items of specialist RNZAF equipment. You'll work with stakeholders across NZDF to investigate issues, improve equipment support processes and help maintain aviation capability. Acting as a key point of contact for equipment-related queries, you'll investigate issues, identify solutions and ensure accurate equipment information is maintained within SAP.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the lifecycle and availability of RNZAF Test and Measurement Equipment
- Use SAP to maintain asset data, investigate issues and correct errors
- Support procurement, inventory management and equipment forecasting
- Analyse equipment data and recommend process improvements
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs and replacement of obsolete equipment
- Work with stakeholders across NZDF and industry to support aviation capability
This role is based in RNZAF Base, Whenuapai. Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of occasional working from home.
The salary for this role ranges from $78,838 - $87,477, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
You will bring experience in a relevant ILS, asset management or supply chain role, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience using SAP is highly advantageous, while a technical background in avionics, aeronautical maintenance or industrial equipment will be highly regarded.
You will also bring:
- Experience using SAP (highly advantageous) or similar ERP systems in an asset-intensive environment
- At least two years’ experience in asset, logistics or supply chain roles
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex data accurately
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Technical knowledge of avionics, aeronautical maintenance or industrial equipment (highly desirable)
This role requires occasional domestic travel across NZDF’s Camps and Bases.
You will ideally have a Class 1 Full Driver’s Licence.

- You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
- At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
- You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
