Keep Microflite running behind the scenes
A delivery that needs to be at Batman Park by ten. A property inspection across town. A meeting room for twenty that has to be ready by lunch.
Behind every smooth day at Microflite is someone making sure the right things are in the right place at the right time.
We’re looking for an Office & Facilities Assistant to be that person.
About the role
This is a hands-on, out-and-about role. Reporting to our Office & Facilities Manager, you’ll look after the practical side of our workplaces, properties and supplies across Microflite Group, from stock and deliveries to contractor visits and property inspections.
One day you might be doing a stock take and placing orders, the next you’ll be meeting a tradesperson at one of our accommodation properties or running equipment between Moorabbin and our Batman Park heliport. You’ll take on tasks and see them through to completion, keeping your manager across what’s done and what’s outstanding.
You’ll work alongside our Front of House Officer, lending a hand with meeting and event set-ups and busy days, as part of a small team that keeps everyone else able to do their jobs.
Why Microflite?
Proudly 100% Australian owned and operated, Microflite Group has grown from a single-aircraft charter operation in 2005 into a national aviation group led by Chief Executive Rodney Higgins. Its four businesses employ more than 175 people and operate a fleet of more than 30 aircraft from bases across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Microflite Aviation delivers premium charter, specialist aerial services, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance for government and industry. Par Avion offers scenic and wilderness flights into the UNESCO World Heritage listed Tasmanian Wilderness, while Airlines of Tasmania provides community and business charters, including island services and freight. Cambridge Airport in Hobart is the home of the Group’s Tasmanian operations.
Guided by its vision to set the benchmark for excellence in aviation, Microflite Group continues to invest in modern aircraft, its people and infrastructure to grow its services across Australia.
What You’ll Do
Your role will be varied, practical, and hands-on, with responsibilities including:
- Inspect offices, amenities and common areas, reporting maintenance and presentation issues before they become problems.
- Manage office, cleaning, kitchen and amenity supplies across Group locations, including stocktakes, ordering and receiving deliveries.
- Run errands, deliveries and collections between Microflite locations, properties and suppliers.
- Attend inspections at our residential and commercial properties, providing clear notes and photos to the Office & Facilities Manager.
- Coordinate access for contractors and trades, and confirm work has been completed to standard.
- Source products and quotes, and help find better value suppliers.
- Help set up and pack down meetings, events and company functions.
- Move and set up furniture and equipment where safe to do so.
- Keep records, registers and spreadsheets for stock, orders, properties and contractors accurate and up to date.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- A practical, proactive approach and a willingness to take on a wide range of tasks.
- Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to juggle changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
- Reliability and accountability, working independently and following tasks through to completion.
- Good communication with colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel between our locations and properties.
Highly Desirable
- Experience in office administration, facilities, property, hospitality, operations or a similar support role.
- An interest in aviation and the chance to see how an aviation business runs day to day.
What We Offer
- Get in the air - properly. Flights to enjoy with family and friends, and seats on empty leg flights to and from the city when they come up.
- Work that visibly matters. In a close knit team, your contribution won’t get lost in a crowd. You’ll see its impact and be recognised for it.
- Genuine progression. Internal training and development, and real opportunity to advance as we grow.
- A team that looks after each other. A confidential Employee Assistance Program, and a leadership team that treats wellbeing and work life balance as more than a line in an ad.
- A company investing in the future. We’re pioneering sustainable aviation practices and exploring advanced air mobility. There’s a lot still to build here.
