Microflite Aviation is seeking experienced B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME) to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this is a hands-on engineering role, with opportunities to work at Microflite’s head office located in Moorabbin Airport.
The role is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of Microflite’s aircraft, upholding the highest standards of airworthiness, safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Duties include performing and overseeing maintenance activities, diagnosing and rectifying technical issues, and supporting aircraft availability in line with operational requirements.

What You’ll Do:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, ensuring compliance with CASA regulations, company policies, and manufacturer specifications.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify aircraft faults, certify work performed, and ensure all aircraft meet airworthiness requirements before release.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
Assist in planning and coordinating maintenance schedules to optimise aircraft availability and operational efficiency.
Conduct component replacements, system inspections, modifications, and upgrades as required.
Lead and coordinate engineering projects focused on maintenance improvements, operational efficiencies, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee special initiatives, including aircraft upgrades, equipment installations, and process improvement projects.
Collaborate with pilots, operations, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient aircraft operations.
Ensure strict adherence to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures and participate in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and engineering meetings.
What You’ll Bring:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant Engineering License: CASA Part 66 B2 with minimal restrictions.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a licensed engineer.
Additional aircraft type ratings or experience across rotary or other fixed-wing platform (e.g., PC12 / Bell 212 & 412 / Airbus H135/H145).
Strong understanding of airworthiness regulations, maintenance procedures, and quality control processes.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
Strong planning, documentation, and coordination abilities.
Ability to fulfil a touring roster pattern to support operational requirements.
Experience in either or both Rotary and Fixed wing (Airbus Helicopters and Pilatus desirable).
Ability to obtain a government baseline security clearance (ASIC).
Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency with no working limitations.
Additional Qualifications (Desirable):
Experience with Avionics Installation and Modification Programs.
Experience with Camera and Mission Systems in an aircraft.
Any previous OEM Training from Airbus or Pilatus would be ideal.
Experience in remote or field-based maintenance environments is highly regarded.
