About the Role
Microflite is seeking an experienced, motivated and personable CASA Flight Instructor / Line Pilot to join the team at Moorabbin Airport. This is a diverse flying role combining flight instruction with operational line flying, including firefighting and a range of specialist aerial work operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct flight training and checking across a range of rotary-wing operations for internal and external candidates
- Conduct operational line flying, including firefighting and other specialised aerial work tasks
- Apply operational experience to support the development, mentoring and assessment of pilots across Microflite's operational fleet
- Provide leadership and support to pilots, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism and operational excellence
- Support the development, review and implementation of flight training programs, operational procedures and training standards
- Maintain currency and proficiency across Microflite's operational activities and contribute to the continued development of operational capability
- Ensure training and operational activities are conducted in accordance with applicable CASA regulations, company procedures and organisational standards
Essential Requirements
- Grade 2 Flight Instructor Rating
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Minimum 2000 PIC hours, with extensive operational helicopter experience and demonstrated flight training experience
- Strong operational background in firefighting, aerial work or other specialised helicopter operations
- Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills, with a professional and safety-focused approach
- Low Level Rating with Sling Load endorsement
Desirable
- Aerial shooting experience, particularly in alpine or mountainous environments
- Aerial Application Rating and Instructor Endorsement – Helicopter Firefighting
- CASA Flight Examiner Approval
- Experience operating in challenging terrain and demanding operational environments
- Multi-engine helicopter qualifications and experience
