About the Role
Microflite is seeking experienced Line Pilots to join the operational team for the upcoming summer fire season. This is an opportunity to fly the AS350 in aerial firefighting operations, supporting bushfire suppression and response activities across Victoria and interstate, as well as undertaking other aerial work operations such as dispensing operations, external load, surveillance & reconnaissance (ISR) and aerial shooting. Employment is a Seasonal Contract for the Summer Fire Season, with Permanent Full-Time opportunities available post-season for suitable candidates. New contracts have been secured for 5+ years, offering long-term stability and genuine career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to a positive, professional and safety-focused operational culture
- Conduct AS350 aerial firefighting operations
- Conduct other aerial work and operational tasks as required
- Operate safely and effectively in challenging terrain, weather and dynamic operational environments
- Work closely with aircrew, fire agencies and other aviation operators as part of coordinated fire response operations
- Maintain a strong focus on situational awareness, risk management and operational decision making
Essential Requirements
- Professional approach to aviation, with a strong commitment to safety and operational standards
- CASA CPL(H) or ATPL(H)
- Current CASA Class 1 Medical
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Minimum 1,500 hrs PIC
- Significant AS350 PIC experience
- Demonstrated experience in aerial firefighting, firebombing or other demanding aerial work operations
- Strong AS350 aircraft handling and operational decision-making skills
- Low Level Rating with Sling Load endorsement
- HUET
Desirable
- Experience operating in alpine or mountainous environments
- Aerial shooting experience, particularly in alpine or mountainous environments
- Vertical reference experience
- Experience working with emergency services or within coordinated incident response operations
