About the Role
LifeFlight is seeking an experienced Maintenance Controller to join our Engineering team based at Archerfield. Reporting to the Head of Aircraft Airworthiness & Maintenance Control (HAAMC), this role plays a critical part in ensuring the continuing airworthiness of LifeFlight’s fleet and the effective coordination of engineering maintenance activities.
As the Maintenance Controller, you will ensure engineering services, procedures and practices align with the requirements of the Maintenance Control Manual and applicable regulatory standards. You will oversee maintenance planning, regulatory compliance, and technical coordination while working closely with Engineering, Flight Operations, Safety and Quality teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring all aircrafts remain airworthy and compliant with regulatory requirements and manufacturer recommendations.
Overseeing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, inspections, repairs and modifications.
Ensuring strict compliance with the Maintenance Control Manual and aviation regulatory requirements.
Supporting the Technical Records team to maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and compliance documentation.
Liaising with internal stakeholders including Engineering, Flight Operations, Safety and Quality, as well as external stakeholders such as CASA, OEMs and vendors.
Identifying operational risks and implementing appropriate safety and compliance mitigation measures.
Providing direction and support to the Technical Services Engineer and Technical Records Officers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical knowledge of aviation maintenance operations along with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of operational and regulatory stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
CASA Instrument of Appointment as a Maintenance Controller.
Demonstrated experience working within a technical services or aircraft maintenance environment.
Strong understanding of aviation regulatory frameworks and airworthiness requirements.
Experience working with computerised aircraft maintenance systems and strong general IT skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information for different stakeholders.
The ability to mentor and support technical staff while contributing to a positive team culture.
A flexible and proactive approach with a strong “can-do safely” attitude.
Highly regarded:
Experience in aircraft reliability program management.
Exposure to Gannet aircraft maintenance software.
