Sourcing Engineer (Special Process Service, New Product Development)

Overview of the Role

The role is responsible for managing the outsourcing of aerospace parts and assemblies that require specialized external processing. This role ensures that all outsourced processes—such as heat treatment, surface finishing, anodizing, non-destructive testing (NDT), and other NADCAP-certified services—are properly coordinated with approved suppliers.

Job Responsibilities

Outsourcing & Supplier Coordination

Sourcing, Procure and Coordinate the outsourcing of aerospace parts and assemblies for special processes such as:

• Heat treatment and surface finishing
• Anodizing, passivation, chemical conversion coating
• Non-destructive testing (NDT) and any other relevant test required at external qualified lab.
• Other NADCAP/relevant-certified special processes
• Liaise with approved external suppliers to manage schedules, capacity, and job status.
• Ensure all required documentation (e.g., drawings, traveller sheets, work orders, certifications) is sent to the supplier and returned with the finished product.
• Key Champion for all Audits relevant to the Sales & Supply Chain Management Department.

Logistics & Tracking

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate logistics for delivery and pickup of outsourced parts.
• Monitor the movement of outsourced work in real-time to avoid production delays.
• Maintain up-to-date records of parts sent out, turnaround times, and returns.

Procurement & Support

• Assist the Procurement team with issuing POs for outsourced services and any other relevant procurement process.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and ensure delivery deadlines are met.
• Record supplier performance metrics, support sourcing reviews, and escalate issues when needed.
• Ensure documentation and certifications from suppliers meet aerospace quality standards.

Quality & Compliance

• Work closely with Quality Department to ensure outsourced items meet aerospace specifications and compliance requirements.
• Manage supplier non-conformance feedback and follow through on corrective actions.
• Ensure suppliers adhere to AS9100, NADCAP, and other relevant quality requirements.

Job Requirements

1. Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Chemical or equivalent.
2. Work Experience(s): Minimum 2–3 years of procurement or production coordination experience in aerospace, chemical process or high-precision manufacturing. Experienced in end-to-end audit handling, including preparation, documentation, and audit response.
3. Required prerequisites/Skillset(s): Microsoft skills, ERP, Strong understanding of aerospace special processes and supplier qualification (NADCAP, AS9100).
4. Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills. Detail-oriented and organized in documentation and recordkeeping. Ability to work as a team and Strong capability to work independently and engaging with external parties (supplier and auditors).
