About the Role

Heston MRO is seeking a Trade Assistant to support the Sydney Station, providing broad support across technical operations, stores and inventory, and general station administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical assistance and operational support to the Sydney Station and maintenance team
  • Conduct technical inspection and conformity checks of aircraft parts, tooling and equipment against approved documentation, airworthiness requirements and HMRO MOE procedures
  • Support maintenance operations by ensuring accurate traceability, serviceability status and shelf-life control of aircraft components and consumables
  • Manage inventory and records in approved maintenance and ERP platforms
  • Analyse usage trends and maintenance demand to forecast material requirements, supporting procurement planning and minimising AOG risk
  • Raise and manage material requisitions, purchase orders and quotes
  • Coordinate with Head Office, airport authorities and suppliers to ensure compliant movement, access and delivery of aviation materials and equipment
  • Undertake routine stock audits and investigate discrepancies impacting maintenance or compliance outcomes
  • Handle and store controlled substances and hazardous materials in accordance with MSDS/SDS, aviation safety regulations, airport procedures and HMRO safety practices
  • Coordinate inspection, maintenance, repair and compliance of GSE and airside assets

Essential Requirements

  • Recent Aviation Australia graduates or candidates who have completed a Certificate IV in Aeroskills
  • Strong interest in developing a career in aviation maintenance
  • High level of attention to detail and patience
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound understanding of safe handling and storage requirements, including hazardous substances

Desirable

  • Previous stores or inventory experience
