About the Role

You will be responsible for vacuum and atmospheric furnace operations to complete all heat treatment cycles correctly and safely to meet production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform alkaline clean, pre-inspection of furnace, load & unload a variety of manual, semi-automatic & automatic furnaces
  • Responsible for the daily heat treat cycles performed, ensuring they conform to written parameters
  • Monitor process cycles for heat-treatment, brazing, stress relieve, diffusion, ADH, bright anneal, and coating cycles on all types of materials and hardware
  • Maintain tooling and fixtures, instruments, and furnaces in good operating condition
  • Understand High Risk Operation (HRO) procedures and be able to exercise emergency procedures during power failure and HF leak
  • Perform 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Maintain pertinent records per the Quality plan
  • Operate hoist for loading/unloading of parts
  • Perform scheduled maintenance & housekeeping tasks

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum NITEC/Higher NITEC in Mechanical/Precision Engineering or equivalent, or Diploma in Mechanical/Precision Engineering
  • Able to read and understand manufacturing operation sheets and standard operating procedures in English
  • 2+ years of furnace process experience
  • Ability to work independently on 12-hour rotating shifts

Desirable

  • Independent with initiative
  • Experience handling temperature measuring instruments
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering
  • 2 years in vacuum and atmospheric heat treatment
  • Team player
