DJI Agras Drone Technician – Agriculture

About the role

Ferntech is New Zealand’s leading DJI Enterprise and Agriculture distributor, supporting customers across farming, horticulture, forestry, and commercial operations nationwide.

Due to continued growth in agricultural drone adoption, we’re looking for an experienced DJI Agras Drone Technician to join our after-sales and technical support team. This is a hands-on role focused on diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and technical support of DJI Agras platforms in a commercial environment.

You’ll be working with industry-leading technology, supporting professional operators who rely on their aircraft to run their businesses.

What you’ll be doing

• Diagnose, service, and repair DJI Agras agricultural drones (T-series platforms)
• Carry out annual maintenance, fault finding, and post-repair testing
• Process DJI warranty and non-warranty repairs
• Perform firmware updates, calibration, and system checks
• Liaise directly with customers on repair status and technical issues
• Obtain a P102 certificate and conduct flight testing
• Deliver maintenance and operational training to end users
• Work closely with sales, training, and support teams to deliver great customer outcomes

What we’re looking for

Essential:

• 3 years DJI Agricultural drone repair experience or DJI Agriculture Training certification
• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical troubleshooting skills
• Confidence working independently in a workshop environment
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable dealing directly with customers in a professional manner

Highly regarded:

• Background in electronics, mechanics, automotive, aviation, or heavy equipment servicing
• Experience with Li-ion battery systems and high-power electronics
• Agricultural or rural industry exposure
• Drone Pilot experience with Agricultural drones
• Experience with DJI service systems and warranty processes
