Corrosion Program Lead

About the Role

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

BDA is looking for a Corrosion Program Lead who will join the AH-64E Apache team. In this embedded role you will be accountable for Sustainment Engineering services from a Systems Engineering standpoint and report to the CoA for day-to-day taskings. This role is based at Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera, and will commence in October 2026 with a 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the A64 Apache Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP)
• Identify and manage environmental degradation of the Apache fleet
• Maintain the Apache CPCP Plan
• Work with corrosion and platform subject matter experts to critically review current corrosion prevention activities
• Propose changes to the CPCP, Aircraft Maintenance Program, rectification of production issues and/or introduction of design changes to improve corrosion prevention
• Support development of remediation actions to existing corrosion issues
• Support System Safety Risk Assessments in support of CPCP outcomes
• Work collaboratively with key AHSPO staff including Data Specialist, Reliability Program Lead, Structural Integrity Program Leads, and Sustainment Engineering Team
• Work collaboratively with other AASB SPO environmental degradation program leads to standardise approaches where appropriate
• Conduct engineering investigations and assessments within the AASB Engineering Management System (EMS) in support of the CPCP

Essential Requirements

• AQF 4 - Certificate IV in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or equivalent
• Experience managing the environmental degradation of aircraft and/or helicopters
• Experience leading and managing a technical project or activity
• Ability to work in a team environment and engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Australian Citizen to meet Defence security requirements

Desirable

• Formal training in corrosion
