Senior Maintenance Manager: Aviation

BAE Systems has a new opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Manager – Aviation to join its Aerospace business on the Hawk Lead-In Fighter (LIF) aircraft program at Williamtown, NSW. This key maintenance leadership position reports to the Maintenance Operations Manager and is offered on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the fleet maintenance and airworthiness of the Hawk aircraft in accordance with safety, quality, cost, schedule and customer requirements
• Ensure sufficient maintenance personnel coverage to achieve aircraft maintenance outcomes, with personnel adequately trained and authorised
• Provide leadership to the team, coaching and developing personnel to foster a high performance culture
• Collaborate effectively with customers and internal/external stakeholders, maintaining a positive work culture
• Oversee aircraft and aeronautical product maintenance, ensuring it is performed, supervised and inspected in accordance with instructions, orders and publications
• Provide leadership and commitment to Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), ensuring compliance and standards of the maintenance workforce
• Identify and report on maintenance opportunities and risks, developing mitigation strategies

Essential Skills

• Significant maintenance management experience, including operational and production maintenance activities
• Tertiary engineering qualification or equivalent to meet Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) requirements to attain DASR Form 4 Delegation
• Aviation/aircraft maintenance industry experience, with sound understanding of airworthiness and DASR standards or equivalent
• Engineering qualifications satisfying membership requirements with Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
• Technical and people leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to manage a team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
