As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and operationally strong People and Culture Manager to lead our HR function from our Hendra headquarters.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position responsible for leading and delivering the full people and culture function across a national workforce.

The People and Culture Manager plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, strengthening leadership capability, driving performance frameworks and supporting operational leaders in a highly regulated aviation environment.

This role matters because our industry demands precision, compliance and strong people leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring our workforce strategies align with operational outcomes, regulatory requirements and long term organisational growth.

This is a full time, in office role based at AVCRO HQ in Hendra, however will require travel interstate to our various ports as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end to end HR function across recruitment, onboarding, performance, employee relations and workforce planning
• Provide strategic and operational advice to senior leaders on people matters
• Interpret and apply Awards, EBAs and relevant employment legislation
• Manage complex employee relations matters including investigations, performance management and compliance risk
• Manage and maintain our Visa applications and compliance
• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks
• Oversee leadership development initiatives
• Support cultural alignment and engagement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work, WorkCover and aviation regulatory obligations such as CASA
• Manage Workcover claims and cases from start to finish

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Proven experience in a senior HR or People and Culture leadership role
• Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law, Awards and EBAs
• Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations and investigations in a heavily unionised environment
• Experience operating within regulated or compliance driven environments
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• High level of discretion and professionalism

Desirable

• Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or related discipline
• Experience within aviation, engineering, rail, transport or other highly regulated industries
• Experience in unionised workforces
• Experience implementing leadership development and workforce planning programs
