About AVCAIR

AVCAIR Aviation Group is a Brisbane-based aviation company working across charter, aeromedical retrieval (MEDCAIR), aircraft management and FBO services. We have bases in Brisbane, Singapore and Karratha, and we’re growing. We’ve been recognised in the AFR Fast 100.

The Role

We’re looking for a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team at Brisbane Airport. You’ll keep our business jet and aeromedical fleet serviceable, with a focus on the Challenger 604 and Learjet 60.

The role is based in Brisbane. You’ll also make short trips overseas, usually one to two weeks and mostly to Singapore, for scheduled inspections and AOG support.

What you’ll do

  • Carry out and certify maintenance to CASA, manufacturer and company standards
  • Troubleshoot and fix defects, including AOG work in Australia and overseas
  • Help plan scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Work closely with flight crew, contractors, manufacturers and the regulator
  • Help us meet our CASA, quality and WHS obligations, and keep tooling, stores and records in order
  • Help improve how we run maintenance

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • CASA Part 66 B1 licence
  • Experience on the Challenger 604 or Learjet 60
  • Full Australian working rights (we can’t sponsor a visa for this role)
  • Living in Brisbane, or relocating before you start. This is a Brisbane-based role, not FIFO
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel overseas at short notice
  • Able to get and keep an ASIC
  • Able to work on your own, including on an AOG away from base, and to work well as part of a small team

Highly desirable

  • Experience on both the Challenger 604 and the Learjet 60
  • CASA Part 66 B1 and B2 licences
  • Type ratings on the CL604 and/or Learjet 60
  • Business jet or aeromedical maintenance experience
  • Senior or leading hand experience

What we offer

  • Permanent full-time role at our Brisbane Airport base
  • Type courses paid by the company for the type you don’t already hold
  • Overseas travel and varied work across charter and aeromedical operations
  • Training and a pathway into senior and leadership roles
  • A small team where your work is seen and makes a difference

How to Apply

Apply through SEEK with your CV and a cover letter. Your cover letter must cover the following points. Applications without one will not be considered.

  • Which aircraft types you have worked on (CL604, Learjet 60 or both), and roughly how long on each
  • Which CASA Part 66 licence categories and type ratings you hold
  • Where you live now, and if you’re not in Brisbane, when you could relocate
  • A short example of an AOG or difficult defect you fixed on your own
