The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has 50 years of proud history, and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and Deep Level Maintenance (DLM) facility based in Broadmeadow NSW. United Aero Helicopters was formed by Jim Norrie and Sam Borg with the aim of providing a first class helicopter service specialising in the fields of fire fighting and remote area utility support. The company’s management team has been involved in the industry for over 24 years as both pilots and managers of multiple aircraft organisations. We have gained through these years of operating helicopters on a variety of tasks, a reputation for providing an efficient and safe service to our clients. United Aero Helicopters manages and operates a fleet of up to 16 single and multi-engine helicopters. These include AS350 BA, B2 & B3 Squirrel helicopters, Bell 206 Jet Ranger & Long Ranger models, Augusta 119 Koala, Kawasaki BK117 and Bell 212 medium helicopters Our management team has vast experience in the operation of a mixed fleet over remote areas including operations in third world countries. We have developed many systems that monitor the maintenance of the aircraft and the pilots fatigue to ensure both compliance and safe operation. Our control systems have been tested over many years and are effective even throughout the largest of campaign fires. These systems add to our ability to ensure the supply of service. Our service does not conclude when the aircraft finish flying. We are available to our clients 24 hours a day through our communication network and beyond the operational scope; we are always willing to assist the client with advice on any industry issues. Over the past 15 years our team has worked with Energy Companies, Fire and Emergency agencies, Agricultural agencies and Emergency Services including: QLD Dept. of Emergency Services, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW State Emergency Service, National Parks and Wildlife Service NSW, APLC, Department of Agriculture, Tasmania Fire Service and the ACT Rural Fire Service.

Who is Black Ops? The founder & owner of Black Ops Helicopters is Chief Pilot, Mark Fitzsimmons. Mark was the founder of Sydney Airport’s longest established Helicopter Company, Blue Sky Helicopters. Mark, started his flying career as an aerial photographer in the UK, before emigrating to Australia in 1991. It was here that he saw the opportunity to take up the “other seat” and become a helicopter pilot, combining two passions, aviation and photography. Blue Sky was established in 1996 and Black Ops in 2015. In August 2019, Mark sold the Blue Sky brand to be able to focus more on the Black Ops experience, aerial firefighting (during the summer months) and his Wildlife Photography Black Ops is a fully certified Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) accredited Air Operator. Air Operating Certificate (AOC) number: S551971.

Professional Helicopter Services (PHS) was established in 1981 and is now one of Australia’s leading helicopter companies operating from bases in Melbourne, Gold Coast and Central Australia. The company services a multitude of rotary wing operations including Pilot Training, Film and Video Production, Emergency Services including Bush Fire Support, Power Line support, Charters and Tourism Flights.
