If you have a passion for aviation and training, we are currently seeking an enthusiastic person with strong electronic and communications hands-on technical skills in a full-time role to join our team of flight simulator technicians. Pinkenba and Melia branches.
About the opportunity
Working as part of a high-performing team, you will apply your technical skill and knowledge to deliver fully maintained and serviceable flight simulators to AAT’s customers.
Position Overview
This is an exciting role covering aspects of Electronics, Aircraft simulation and modern computing.
In this hands-on role, the Simulator Technician works as part of a team applying technical knowledge to operate and maintain fully serviced flight simulators for use by AAT’s customers.
Requires complex fault-finding skills to quickly isolate and repair faults to the flight simulators.
Key Responsibilities
Working with both a small dynamic team and a global team delivering:
Daily maintenance to ensure simulators are ready for training.
Performing line maintenance to rectify crew-reported faults.
Carrying out maintenance to the required standards.
Ensuring simulators are compliant with CASA/EASA regulations.
Installing and updating software as required.
Provide technical support and assistance to simulator upgrade projects.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Delivering outcomes, in a timely, responsive, customer-focused, and quality-driven manner.
Committed to working safely and ensuring all OHS instructions, policies, and procedures are applied.
Other tasks as requested by the manager within the skillset.
Education/Qualifications Required:
Cert IV Avoinics Aeroskills or equivalent
or Advanced Diploma in Electronics
Preferred:
Higher qualifications in one or more of the following (or equivalent): electronics (digital and analogue systems), avionics and/or computer hardware and programming and/or equivalent experience, mechanical hardware, electrical.
Key Skills and Experience
Required Ideally the appointee to this role will have relevant experience working with:
Electronic systems
System fault diagnosis to a board level.
Computer Networking skills.
Aircraft/avionics systems (desirable but not essential)
Sound analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Sound communication skills, including the ability to professionally liaise with colleagues and customers at all levels.
Ability to work as an effective member of a team as well as independently under routine supervision.
A demonstrated commitment to providing high levels of customer service.
